Default b18b1 stripped timing belt tensioner bolt

any ideas on how to take this bold off i stripped it pretty good ... i dont want to have to take the motor out

damn you mangled that thing pretty good! id say drench it in pb blaster and try to get a smaller socket on there.. if that doesnt work then maybe vise grips? i dont believe its possible to use an easy out with the motor still in cause you couldnt drill out the center

Vise grips Gayle grip socket or Irwin bolt extract that bits down into the bolt.

if you can get a welder in there, welding a nut to that would be your best bet. trick to a solid weld is making sure the surfaces are clean. scuff the head of the bolt with some emery cloth. place the nut over top the bolt head. build up a nice pool in the center of the nut. now you can get a box end wrench or socket on there.

another method that i've used in binds like this is to file off 2 flat spots parallel to each other on the head of the bolt. trick there is file it so it fits good and tight inside the open end of the wrench. it works pretty good. just have to try and make sure the flats are as parallel as possible. and fit snug in the wrench
