Default New to the slammed world

I have a 2004 accord coupe 6-6 stock suspension. Im looking to lower it about 1.5" or 2" I've heard the stock shocks blow out if used with a lowering kit. Is this true? Im looking at the Ground Control lowering springs available for my car and do not want do aftermarket shocks with it is this possible? Trying to save myself some money.

Is it possible? Yes. Is it a good idea? No. Save your money until you can do it right the first time oooooor you will be doing it right the second time.

Why would you not want to use quality aftermarket shocks? The good ones like from Koni are WAYYYY better than OEM shocks.

2" is definitely not slammed on a newer accord. Those things are major 4x4's.

After seeing my car again I realized 2" isn't slammed. I'm gonna get new shocks eventually but was just curious if using the OEM shocks for a bit would hurt anything.

Do it once do it right. Wait until you have all the parts and the time is right.
