Default GC coilovers used?

Quick question, So this guy is selling me his Used GC's because he got a new suspension, anything i need to look out for when buying them? he's selling them for 140$ and they're what 300$+tax brand new? so i figure its a good buy and i should jump on this, now i know i'll either throw them on for right now with my stock shocks and wait to get some Koni Yellows because i'll be replacing the shocks so idc if they blow really...... But back to the Original Question, What will the risk be by buying these used? and is 140$ a good deal for these?

GC sleeves that will fit a stock shock will not work with Koni Sport shocks, and vice versa.

This is our NUMBER ONE seller. excellent quality, and the best ride of any kit on the market
This kit fits Honda Civic/ Del Sol (LIMITED EDITION) 92-00 with stock, Sachs, Boge, Tokico Premium Performance , Tokico Illumina, Koni, Bilstein, KYB , KYB AGX, or GAB HPshocks (please specify shock type before ordering)

thats the only reason i ask, when i go to the GC website they have the Limited Editon ones and those fit stock and aftermarket shocks, as well as the "custom" rate ones it does however say +40$ if the shocks are Koni Yellows so does that mean i'll be able to

Yes, and no, respectively.

However, if they are not Koni specific sleeves they will fit other shocks, such as KYB AGX or Tokico Illumina.

You need to specify the shock type when ordering to make certain that you end up with a safe setup.

Oh and thanks alot for the input guys, i'm kinda a newb when it comes to suspension stuff, basically lookin for an adjustable setup, not super exspensive but not hella cheap because i'm def not cheaping out on suspension. But just to be able to raise and lower for car shows or when i'm cruisin on the weekend, and at the same time when i'm DD'n my car its not slammed but maybe still looks aggressive?

Nope. That's an incorrect rumor.

The adapter is for older Koni specific GC sleeves to fit Koni shocks.

You do know that every single time you change ride height, you'll need to get the car aligned, right?

Honestly, I would say that 90%+ of the people who think they want something adjustable would be much better off with a nice set of lowering springs and good shocks.

I love my Koni Sport (Yellow) / GC sleeve combo on my car, but I bought them for auto-x and track use. If you don't intend to drive slammed, there are much cheaper ways to have a cosmetic lowering that will ride acceptably.

First, you'll need to define "run track", since I'm betting you probably mean drag strip use and not a race track...

The stock suspension is perfectly capable for street, track, and strip use.

What aftermarket parts you should use depends entirely on your willingness to compromise one area for another, budget, experience, tires, power, personal preferences, and intended use (not necessarily in that order either).

If you really cared about performance use, looks would be ignored. If you care about looks and ride quality, performance needs to be ignored. You can't have it all in one car. And if you could benefit from a real performance suspension, you would have already known to provide a lot more information for others to use in providing a recommendation. Which leaves us right back at "good shocks and lowering springs" if you need the car lower now.
