Default A/c Checklist

Real quick give me a list of things to check when the a/c compressor won't turn on.

Things already checked:
Dashboard switch makes the engine speed change as it tries to kick the compressor on, so the switch prob works

jumped the pressure sensor with a wire, did not turn the compressor on, rules out bad charge or broken sensor

fuses good

I did find that slamming the hood made it come on for about 30 sec. Also, hitting the frame under the hood with a hammer will sometimes do this as well.

Thanks!

Ok I found the ground wire for the condenser fan and their must be something wrong because it has a charge. It sparked my socket wrench when I went to unscrew it....

Well first off, unhook the g.d. battery ... there's likely a fuse blown, now, too, to compound the problem.

i didn't bother to post to post the model info as all 1992-2000 civic's air conditioner's are exactly the same.

I'm just going to replace some wiring that looked corroded and loose near the condenser.

Also is there a easy way to jump the sensor that is on top of the compressor to rule it out?
