I have a stock LS with ARP rod bolts and stage 2 crower cams. I rev to 8k all day long. I have a stock LS oil pump. I just hooked up my pressure gauge and I max out at 75psi oil pressure. I know that I can modify the pump (remove the spacer) to make it GSR and bump up the pressure, but I'd rather not pull it down. Is this enough oil pressure? The engine only needs to last about 2 years. My previous motor had the GSR oil pump and with a fresh oil change it pumped up over 100psi. Am I going to damage the motor by having 75psi vs 100psi?

 

If you suspect the oil pump is going bad why not spend the money on a new OBD2 oil pump and be done with it?

75psi is perfectly fine. don't touch anything.

 

^^^x2. too much oil pressure can be a bad thing as well.

 

your oil psi aslo has to do with clearances inside the engine also.....
