I've searched and I can't find this problem.
I am hand tightening one of the studs did about three turns and the stud felt tight backed off looked at the threads of the stud and they were fine the block threads look ok. Put more lube and tighten the stud and same thing happened put a little more force and it kept going.
But now I can't hand tighten any more and I know the stud hasn't gone all the way to the bottom it need about two turns is it fine to leave it like that?

From what I remember reading when i searched on this years ago was to use a allen wrench to tighten them till they bottom out then 1/4-1/2 out. Wait until someone else chimes in....or search
this is how i did mine i used a allen key and tighten hand tight and backed off about half turn

Studs should not have play after being installed as mentioned above. They may need to be chased if they're not going in smoothly after the brake kleen/compressed air trick.
