I feel your pain man. I moved to Orlando,Fl years back and 10 days after moving there my eg was stolen from a gated community and it was parked in front of my window like 6ft away. Then over the next 3 months 2 more of my friends cars were stolen. So I moved home asap.

I know the feeling.
Mine was a purple eg with the stock single cam with 245,000 and it burnt oil like a mo fo. Lowered on cheap springs and black gsr fat fives. F/R type r lip and a muffler. Not special or anything.

i say follow it up and go strapped just in case... if it is yours then youd be able to recognize distinct marking that are particular to YOUR motor. they may all be the same but they are different...

Check it out but don't go "strapped" you'll end up in jail. What is taking a gun going to do. When you show up note location licence plate # remember names and bring friends. Remember you have to prove the engine is yours and trans vin is a great way of linking the engine to your car. If the vin matches tell him you want it need to go to the bank for the rest of the cash and call the cops. Be sure to have insurance card or something with your name and cars vin number on it.

Did I miss the part where OP said he was a felon? He most certainly can go almost anywhere in Florida except for federally owned buildings "strapped". This is America, home of slim jims, double wides, and gun wielding citizens. In the slight chance he is a gun owner and carrier, this would be exactly the situation where you would carry, regardless of your stance on gun control....just from a gun owners perspective. I hope you get your car back.

From a gun owner and conceal and carry holder you use you brain. Why is he going to need to take a gun.

Why anyone carries a gun anywhere is their perogative, but the point of my post was to express that carrying a gun in Florida to look for his car isn't going to "land him in jail". It is pretty moot though, in the small chance he owns a gun, he would likely know that.

im just saying, times are hard for some people and for the groups of people that steal cars like this for a living... you never really know how far some people are willing to go. rather be caught with it than caught without one...

The serial number of your motor is matched to the vin number of your car. Check the serial number of that motor. Out here in vegas if the motor or trans is missing any identification plates or stickers then its taken.
