Default South Florida Performance needs to learn how to make manifolds!!!! GRRRRRRRRRR

Yeah, so last night we do a little test fitting of the turbo/manifold on some H22A motors we had in the garage, South Florida Performance manifolds w/ external wastegate and a T3/T04e turbo (we bought 2 H22A ones, one for me and one for a friend)......I was worried before about the placement of the turbo and having it hit the front motor mount (I planned to just trim the mount), BUT IT'S WORSE THAN THAT!!! We took OFF the mount, and the compressor housing hits the BLOCK! It's an unacceptably shitty design, and leads me to believe that SFP has never even tried testfitting this manifold on an H22 motor because there is NO WAY this manifold would ever work. Is anyone out there running an SFP H22 manifold that you can send me pics of? I would literally need to cut off half the front motor mount, take out the top right bolt, and cut about an inch to an inch and a half into the block to make the exhaust housing line up with the flange.......
I'm SOOOOOOOO pissed right now, I'm calling SFP on monday and telling them we want our money back.....I'll put up some pics in a little while on this post......
Worst thing is, this test fitting was just with a T3/T04e and not the GT3240 I'm gonna be running. It has a larger compressor housing than this one T04s and will have even more clearance issues......

With the mount off, hitting the block. You can see how much the flanges still need to go to line up right

Closeup of block contact

Still doesn't fit

Anyone have suggestions about how to deal with SFP? I'm sooooooooooo angry, because the turbo install was only a couple weeks away and now who knows......

That's why the drag and f-max kits come with a t4b compressor. The only way it looks like you'll get a turbo on that mani is with a smaller compressor. There is someone on this board with a silver si with the sfp mani, maybe he'll chime in.

i was also gonna go sfp, but i heard about the clearance issues. so i went with the drag4 manifold.

sorry to hear that about your sfp manifold...keep us posted on what they say when you contact them. I had them down on my list as a possible option for my h23a..H23a apps are so hard to come by..Seems only a few people make them. I may check out the drag 4 but I need some info on them.Good Luck

Acutally on the Drag Gen II manifold for the H series.. the turbo sits on the top so you can actually go bigger if you so desired without having to cut or shave anything.

looks like even if you did fit the turbo you can't put a oil line on it because the manifold is in the way. My max rev manifold looks better and better after hearing about everyone elses problems.

i live within 5 minutes of south florida performance and pass by there every so often. Havent passed by recently but all i can say is that they are very inconsistant in build quality. The manifold are done by hand and chances are, were not test fit on a block. ive seen it with my own eyes. I have actually been standing there waiting for my turn to dyno and have watched him build one and then just set it aside and start on the next. not exactly cool. the same goes with there mechanic skill. i have seen some awesome car leave that store and some very bad ones too. In my opinion, the only person worth dealing with there is Frank (owner). he really knows his stuff and is usually a really nice guy. I hope i helped a little.

btw: im new so whuts up everyone!
