Default B18C Cam caps

Ive been looking and cant find the part number for the cam caps (the stuff in the red circle in the pic) anyone have a part # for it. My head side looks fine, very minimal scoring, but the caps look a bit worse.

The reason you can not find them, is because they are "not" sold separately, sorry

You will have to source out used parts from someone, or buy a whole new head

You can have the caps milled and then the bores rebored. After that, it would be a good idea to degree the cams. The slightly lower cam axis will add a little rotation to the cam relative to the crank. It's a good idea to degree the cams anyway.

I'd say yes, from what I can see. If you can feel those scratches with your fingernail as you drag it across them, then definitely. If you have a machine shop you can trust, you can ask them as well.

^ Yes, but machining those would take them out of spec, not something I'd want my cams riding in.

Not if they mill the bottoms of the caps and the cap bosses on the head. It does lower the cams slightly, but that can be compensated for by degreeing the cams, something you should do anyway.

I have seen people use caps that look 10x worse than that. You will be ok.

i would lightly clean them up with some wet 2000 grit and then some polish. don't go crazy trying to get every scratch out, chances are they will work fine. then drive it and save your money for the next job!
