Where to get cam caps...
Wuts up guys im missing all my cam caps on my b16a1,and i was told that there hard as hell to find some for my motor....does anybody know where i could get some, and if u have any for sale please contact me....any help is appreciated...thanks
your head is pretty much a honda paperweight. even if you find a set that'll fit, they'll probly cause utter chaos before long. it's hard to explain why this is, and if i tried to explain, it would take about 5 pages to do so. to make a long story short the worse that could happen is it could run ok for a while then the next time you take to 7 or 8 grand the cams could freeze up in the journals and tear your engine and head internals to bits. even if you take the head to a machine shop and have it line honed there is still a chance the cams could freeze up. the smartest and safest thing to do is start saving for a new cylinder head. in the end it will be worth the headaches and time it saved.

if anybody tells you different then they are retarted or tryin to make money off of
you. and if you still dont believe me just make a trip to the local honda dealership and ask the parts guy you need a new set of cam caps for your head. he'll gladly sell you the cam caps, for the price of a brand new cylinder head. also ask the parts guy why you cant just buy new cam caps and he'll probly laugh at you. you have to use the same cam caps that came with that head due to the super strict
machining tolerances honda applies to these parts when they are produced.

I was missing cam caps about a year ago, see my thread? Someone in that thread sold me caps while my head was in the machine shop undergoing some port work and oversized valve cutting. The cam caps came in the mail, I ran them down to the machine shop so they could test fit them, all worked fine except one that had to be machined down a little.
So what you're trying to tell this guy is that with all the 9k revs my motor sees, it should've seized up a long time ago?

The reason the cam cap need to stay with the same head is because they are cut and macth perfect. You can use other caps if you send the head out and get it line bored. I wouldn't send it to any machine shop ask around and fine a good one.
Thanks for all the help guys i really appreciate it,so your saying i could find any set of caps and have them machined.....but the problem is no one is going to sell me cam caps that belong to a specific head.....if anyone is intrested in buying the head give me offers....thanks
