smallest 10k RPM Tach for 2000 EJ6
So I dont want to change my gauge cluster because I found a mint 1 owner 2000 EJ6 with only 95k on it. but it didnt come oem with a tach in cluster. I have an autometer tach that has been in a couple race cars of mine on the pillar per usual but I was hoping for something less obvious for this car. starting a bit of a sleeper project. hopefully only the eye for stance would give it away. new york city civics get snagged by people and the cops a lot. looking for a 10k tach that will tuck into a cluster mount or something similiar and not be right in the windshield. recomendations?
thanks!

-swap cluster for one from an EX
-swap original speedometer head into EX cluster to retain mileage
-?????
-Profit!
Only problem is the OEM tachs only go up to 9k, although relativistically you wont be revving that high anyway.

thanks I hadnt thought of putting my speedometer assembly into an ex or si cluster. that is probably what I will do. even with a 230 horse all motor b18 I didnt run it past 9k.

I bought a Stack tach and mounted it inside the stock cluster.
Here's my link to the install
I saw it in a issue of Honda Tuning

look into an afc unit on craigslist or something. you can get it for a few hundred or less. i got my apexi vafc2 for 120. about the same cost of a high quality small gauge except you can make custom tachs and revs.
thanks for all the input;
snagged an Si cluster off of ebay and going to swap in my speedometer.
9k is plenty for now and its the most stock looking option.

yeah I noticed in my last B18C civic that the autometer 3700 I had read differently by about 500 RPMS above 5K than the stock EX tach that came with it. it was a 93. hopefully the 2000 Si tach is a bit more accurate than a 93 ex. maybe a comparison is in order when I get it.
