Default problems with swap in new car.

Just got a 1998 ek. Its got a d16z6 swapped in it from a 93 del sol. My problem is this:

The shittiest wiring I've ever seen. The whole harness is f**ked up. The ecu is the p28 for the motor. My question is, could I just buy the engine harness for the d16z6 and the ecu and just have the car obd1 or should I get the harness for the car itself and keep it obd2. Cause right now I have a check engine light and when I hook a scan tool to the data link it reads no link and I tried doing it obd1 way but it doesn't work either.

So you bought it that way? And you're bitching about it? Are you sure it's a P28 cause that's the correct ECU for that engine.?

Yes I bought it that way. I didn't know the wiring job was so shitty. All I want is to clean it up cause it's a giant mess.
