Re: OBD question (EG_GSR_HB)
that is OBD1 and you'd be putting in an OBD2 motor.
Correct me if I'm wrong, (anybody) but the motor should bolt right in. If you use an OBD1 ECU (or the stock ECU) you may just need to swap the matching fuel injectors and distributor. Some wires may need to be extended, but that should be it. If you use a P28 ECU for 5spd with the 92 wire harness, I don't think you'll have to do any wiring between the engine bay and ECU so that helps. You would have to add a wire to the engine harness for VTEC. . . maybe a couple wires. ****.
For plug and play, use a P28 ECU, D16Z6 harness, D16Z6 distributor, and D16Z6 injectors. I think if you do that, everything else will work.
Ok hope that helps, and I hope I didn't give any false information.

VX=OBD1
Y8=OBD2
Also the VX runs a P07 ECU which is not a friendly ECU to play with.
Pick up a P28, move one O2 wire and the rest of the harness should be really close to working on the new engine. (VX has VTEC)
mechanically it will bolt right in.
civics
92-95 = OBD1
96-98 = OBD2a
99+ = OBD2b
