Hey i been seaching n changing parts n still cant get my car to start with the key....i changed the starter n ignition switch bt it didnt help...bt if i turn the key to the on position n go under the hood n jump the starter it will run just fine...now the clutch switch i took it off soo the car could start with out me puttin the clutch in

Any ideas??

Fuse???

 

all are good under the hood n under the dash.....is just weird how everything works just fine radio, clock heat, all lights come on the dash just fine too....the engine is the only thing that wont start with the key i cnt think wat it could be anymore

 

The same thing happened to me after I took the fuse box out of my crx and then put it back in when I was finished repairing a wire. The car would only start if I jump the starter to the battery. What happened was the previous owner had disconnected the clutch switch, cut the two wires and spliced them together poorly and when I was messing with the fuse box the two wires came apart and my car wouldn't start. So my advice to you is locate the clutch switch wiring if the plug isn't cut then it will be a small yellow two wire plug. Go ahead and cut the plug off and connect the two wires and your car will start.

 

Well see i took the clutch switch off myself i cut the plug n put the wires together...now i checkd n recheck n the wires r still together reallly good....should i try to put the plug back n use the clutch switch again??

 

ITS THE RELAY

 

relay for starter?? theres a fuse that says start signal?? but is good

 

The one under your dash I think he means haha, its in behind the hood latch lever, when you first turn your key to the run position you should hear two really fast clicks together that sounds like one click, if you don't then you need one, and if your stranded somewhere and can't get help or if you don't wanna buy a new one lol, you can pop the outside cap off it and squeeze the two outsides in but not too hard, just enough that you override the relay pretty much haha, I had to do that on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, it's amazing what you'll learn when your stranded:p

oh ok sooo the main relay also controls starter?? bcoz whats weird is that when i turn the key to the ON i hear the first click fuel pump comes on n then real qik the second click on check engine light goes off...everything happend in like 1 second....idk if i should replace it does it sound like mine relay is good?

Nope that guy it wrong sorry that relay that clicks under your dash is your main/fuel pump relay, The relay you need its located on the fuse box its a lil relay it maybe be on the back of the fuse box if you do some checking youll find it or ask autozone to show you what the relay looks like and go from there but for sure its the relay its on the fuse box itself and that is the problem if you changed starter and all switches

 

Oh ok i think i knw wat relay u talkn about ill make sure to check that out as soon as i put my car together...im doin some major work to it now n the heads off plus im gnna add a jrsc bt thanks to everyone for the info it helps/make sense alot ill update when i put my car back togetger

N if u have any info on the ef with jrsc that i could get that would help too

Oh it's not whirling at all? I thought you meant it just wouldn't start lol, sorry man, but yeah there's a fuse that says starter signal, and your car won't start if it's blown, you sure it's okay?

 

haha is cool bro bt yeah i checked it n is fine i replaced it too bt right now i cant tell if is going to work i didnt put it together yet but thnkss alot
