Icon2 Changed my VSS & female connector still getting CEL ! pls help!

Hey guys, So i had a problem on my b20vtec. I had intermiddant readings on my speedo then it stoped working completely. Then 2 days before i was replacing my clutch it started working again. After clutch replacement it stopped working..

Bought another vss and also switched the female connector bc there was to much corrosion. Still getting a CEL light, speedo still doesnt work. NO Vtec :/

Any suggestions ? any advice would be helpful thanks guys

Does the VSS connector have battery voltage on the power wire and good ground on the ground wire?

You have an electrical problem. It's time that you learned how to do some basic electrical tests. Can you get a digital multimeter?

When you have the multimeter, post a picture of it and also mention what car you have.

lets see the pic. Checking it with an ohm meter would be best but if its clearly blown we should be able to see that.

Are you sure you wired the connector back up correctly?

Yeah the inside of the fuse is intact , the only questionable thing for me is the lightly colored brown coating on the prongs of the fuse ... Is that how it should be ?

no it should look silver like bare metal.. I honestly can't say if its enough to affect it or not. Best thing to do is to get the multimeter and go from there..

ok, I should be able to get my hands on one tonight or tomorrow. This is to test the actual vss sensor for ground and positive charge ? not the fuse ? i can just put a new fuse to be safe to though yeah ? Thanks

You can also use the multimeter to test the fuse.

Swap in a spare 7.5A fuse into the #15 slot to see if anything changes.
