EK hatch/b18c1 (GSR)/JDM type R ECU - Help passing EMISSIONS
I'm in some need of help, trying to pass emissions. (last one my car will ever need) I have a b18c1(GSR) EK hatch, with a JDM type R ECU... I took my car to the emissions test place and all they could tell me is they can't communicate with my car, and I'll have to find out why. I thought this might happen because after I plugged into the car myself nothing could be done: reset CEL, find codes, anything... I wasn't sure if they might be able to get in SO What do I have to do to pass emissions? There are no lights currently on so it should pass if i can get them to communicate with my car

If I were you, I'd get a USDM OBD2A P72 ECU with a OBD2B-OBD2A step down harness. That ECU will communicate with the scanner. The reason I recommend an OBD2A is because the OBD2B ECUs will require modification of the immobilizer unit to get rid of the CEL.
As long as the ECU came from a 96-98 gsr it will plug right in. If you are running a jdm b18c you will also have to do the cfk trick or swap to a usdm oil pump as jdm engines do not have the ckf sensor. And try to avoid a 98 p72, it looks for the fuel tank pressure sensor which your car doesn't have.
Now that i'm past which ECU will work... I bought an ECU out of a 97 b18c1. Assuming all i would need to do it plug it in and pass emisisons, so i plugged er in. Now (of course) a CEL popped up as soon as i started my car with the new ECU in. Now that a scanner can read the CEL I managed to find out it was Code: p1337- No signal in the Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation (CKF) sensor circuit... Now what the hell do I do? I've seen ways to bypass this problem, which whould allow me to pass emissoins, but is this hindering my performance anyway? should I fix it the right way even the the JDM type R doesn't throw this code?

That bypass will work.

Still looking for help! I wired the o2 sensor into my ECU with the following
Singal-D14
Ground-D11 then 13
Heater-A11
Heater-A5
And 2 different codes came up CEL 6 n CEL 10 (intake temp/ coolant temp or something) I took care of the intake temp (loose wires) and couldn't figure out the coolant code... so i took the power and went straight to the battery and also reconnected (a11)... code still on. Changed the ground and it finally went off. BUT 65 (secondary o2) came back on. i've tried all the different wiring combo's i've seen on honda-tech it seems and it wont go off. chances of me getting a faulty sensor? bad cat? HELP!
