E85 integra code 43 (fuel system) help
i have a all motor mild build gsr block itr head running on e85:
right now it's throwing a check engine light and maintenance required lighting.
checked out the ecu code and it's turned out to be code 43 (fuel system)..
some times my car starts but then at times it doesnt.. i thought i was because of the viper alarm kill switch but i guess its not because it's bogging during start up. fuel mileage goes up and performance is down. so i'm really guessing it's the fuel filter.. any other suggestion?

start with the cheap solutions first
fuel filter replacement, 20 bucks for the filter and 15 mins of your time.
add a fuel injector cleaner when you next fill up. 3 or 4 bucks at an auto store
if still is then i'd say your fuel pump might be going out.
which is a little more costly
my car would have problems starting and also die sometimes while idle and i replaced the fuel filter and added cleaner and it was all good but there that may not be the case for your situation but its a good place to start

don't believe it would hurt but i don't think you would need to use fuel injector cleaner because e85 keeps it pretty clean, i was just letting you know what i've done. start with fuel filter and see how it goes
What did you do to upgrade the fues system to handle the corrosive nature of E85? I have not looked into what is required, but ethanol will corrode aluminum.
Disregard the Maintenance Required light, as it is merely a timer.

I think that the aluminum fuel rail would not like the E85 either. Go look in the forced induction forum for some E85 conversions. They should cover the details of what was required.
