Hey so my eg has been having some problems. i bought off some random guy and he did a swap and but a 94 b18 in it. First off the engine light is on. but ive found out thats pretty common with swaps. but main problem is after i start the car it idles extremely low. like around 300. but after i drive for a min it idles at around 1100. and randomly it like pulsates when im idling. im sorta new to the honda game so help would be greatly appreciated.. maybe its the iacv?

 

First off check and see what engine code you're throwing. Just search the FAQ at the top of this board for a how to if you don't know. It could be a number of things. Have you tried cleaning your IACV?

 

Check and clean out your idle control valve. Check ur vaccum lines too.

 

a cel isnt common with a swap unless they did something retarded.. before anything check what the cel its throwing. You can jump the harness and read the flashes, or take it autozone and they will scan it for free.

The idle problem def sounds like you should at least take the iacv out and clean it with brake cleaner till it runs clear, and also check for vacuum leaks as stated.

 

check your iacv, clean it with carb cleaner, keep spraying until runoff is clear

also, check for any vacuum leaks, damaged vacuum lines
