Default Weird B16 High RMP problem

So I had my car Dyno'd yesterday and I was happy with the results but I have two problems the first one is the at high RPM's over 8500 the rpm go to zero and bounce back at random from 8500 to 9500 any suggestions? the second is that everyonce in a while when I drop a gear or shift to the next it bogs really bad?

Thanks everyone!

sounds like a bad connection in the distributor or a bad ignitor and or control module. All of these are easy and cheap fixes. Replace the electronics in the distributor and makes sure all the connectors are snug. I would check connections first.

I had a b16a that the tach showed 8k but the motor sounded like it was going to blow up. With a stock b16 computer i had no rev limiter and it showed 8k when i was really at 9.5k. It was a bad control module and ignitor.

If you cant find the thermostat, step away from the car and find a mechanic

So checked all the grounds and they were good, I even added a ground and took it out for a spin, and it still has that RPM tach drop at about 9100 and a slight bog so Im gonnna put in a new cap and rotor, could it be that or the ignitor?

I still think it is a ground issue. Maybe broken wire? Bad ground somewhere else?

N/A do you always come across as a dumbshit or just part of the time? OP asked for help and you have yet to provide useful or relevant information. Read the OP’s first post and follow along little kiddie… Would a Rev Limiter go from 9k to 0k and back again several times? If you think that’s what a Rev Limiter does, then I would recommend that you stick to adding only bolt on’s and race harnesses to your stock seating. Trust me, from the looks of it, whatever problem the OP has, its way over your head of expertise. GTFO

N/A its a B16 with 12:1, ported, with Pro 1's built by me! not bought like you!
I talked with the tuner today and he told me its a ignition cut. So is that why it does what it does? Here is a short clip

lol sad attempt to degrade me... congrats on being able to look thru my car thread and see that I only have boltons on my car so far. If you ACTUALLY READ thru it you'd know why it only has boltons so far.

Maybe YOU should read his post again
He has TWO problems

Both problems occur during a drop in rpms, so its probly the same issue. So shut the **** up and let the OP answer my question without clouding the whole thread with bullshit and not trying to help him yourself, yes I am being sarcastic about things but my only intention is to help him.

Built by you????? Man you couldn't even find your thermostat housing don't try and come talk like your some glorious engine builder. I've built more than one, and have reasons for keeping a oem engine in my car at the moment.

Where is your rev limiter set? What is it tuned on? Do you have a wideband?
The tuner you talked to, did he tune your car specificly? Does your tune include launch control? Do you have a knock sensor?

You have to be a lot clearer with what you have to receive the correct advice dude
If you have a tuner already the best bet is to bring it to him.

Lol and if the the both of you think that me trying to get the most out of a OEM built engine refects my knowledge or anything I've built in the past, feel free to continue bashing aimlessly

pro1's, shouldn't be reving that high, power doesn't carry in a b16 like that, i'd venture to say 8800rpms @ most. Stop reving it so high, you're just putting added stress on rotating parts.

You have ign cut on?? IF so, this is the problem, ign is very violent on the cut, and makes the tech go crazy as well as send a electrial charge through the system @ times..

check the tuning program, see if ign cut is what your using, or if both fuel cut and ign cut are on.. this is also the problem you say your having..its not really a problem its just the character of the IGN cut.
