I'm boosting my hatch, and have been looking at some cx racing parts. I want to hear everyones opinion/stories about their products. How long does the stuff last? is it fairly strong? I know you get what you pay for, but I've heard from a friend they have good stuff. Just need some more opinons and thoughts before i order anything! please post! Looking at their intercoolers, turbo, couplers ect. Thanks ht!

 

You simply can't cheap out on turbos, cheap is cheap.....

Most of all the cheap parts are all the same crap rebadged, none of it is "good" most of it is barely usable for long periods of time.

 

There intercooler kits, oil coolers, and radiators are good... Everything else I have no experience with, but plent of people can vouch that their intercooler's are just as good as the high dollar stuff... I've personally used 3 different ones, and will pick up an oil cooler from them as well!

But when it comes to turbos, you should stick to the name brands as Ebay turbos are hit or miss. Some blow up the same day installed, others run 20,000+ miles without issues... But why risk it when Turbonetics, Garrett, etc... All have turbos for under $700 that will fit your needs and come with a okay warranty.

 

You can use the intercooler, charge piping, and the radiators as mugencrx said. I wouldn't use anything else.

650/410 on there piping, and intercooler no problem

it does get high on the iat's though

 

I haven't seen many people run them for those power goals. I would put that money towards the turbo.(I know I know, beating a dead horse)

 

The china turbos can be ok, but the real problem is that they are not engineered to be performance turbos, so they wear out too fast. They are usually t3 or t4 or a combination of each, but they don't run 360 degree thrust bearings like a turbonetics turbo does, and the build and balance tolerances are usually pretty loose.
The real way to go is to find a complete kit, put it on, and run it until the turbo dies. If you get a good enough deal, the pipes, intercooler, BOV, wastegate, etc., are priced right and the turbo is pretty much free.

 

275whp @ 11psi on a eBay 50 trim be prepared to leak oil past the seals constantly. Small price to pay when you're getting a $90 turbo

 

i would rather not chunk turbine wheel into my charge pipes and intercooler. build it right the first time.

 

That would never happen, unless you got a chinese turbo that didn't even use inconel in the turbine wheel or if you got a chinese turbo that had metal shavings in the oil feed hole. What are the odds of that ever happening?

 

I've used their intercooler piping and nothing wrong with it. Just adding my $.02

 

my buddy is sponsored by them and runs a cx turbo on his 1.5jz in his s13 and competes in FD... hasn't had an issue yet

 

I just don't like chinese turbos, too hit or miss for me. There are hits, no doubt, but most of the ones I see get worn out pretty quick.
