hello, 99 si, b18c, p2t ecu, getting a code p1259. vtec system malfunction. should i replace the entire solenoid? my tps seems to be giving me problems too. car sorta decides its own position like its getting the wrong signals. it will take off and sorta hold itself back at the same time. anyone else have similar problems?

 

i thought obd1 and 2 had dif sized gears for VSS or sumthing. not sure.

si ecu aint gonna cut it. you need the correct ecu
clean your vtec seloniod. and reseal it with hondabond

 

im working on getting a p28 with a stepdown harness and getting tunned. what are the procedures for cleaning it?

 

3 10mm bolts. put a rag under the job, oil will come out.

your 3 wires could be bad.
check the vtec ground.
clean the filter in the selonoid when you have it off. use brake cleaner. and reseal it back on.

unplug the plugs.
3 bolts.
pry off
