i have a ls/vtec im running a obd2a ecu is a 1996 but my vtec is not kickin can it be the ecu?

 

First of all you need a chipped obd1 ecu with a proper basemap.

And for your Vtec issue, any cel? Enough oil pressure?

 

There are several things that you need to check. You obviously need a VTEC Ecu, did you run the oil line and tap the head properly? Also check to see if the dowel pin and o- ring under the middle cam cap is there. If all else fails check the oil pressure at the head and the block.
