Sean's VBM 01 Integra Non-V Turbo Build.
I knew once i became a member of HT and actually did something somewhat major to my car, i'd have to make a built thread.
Car is a 2001 Acura Integra LS. Mods currently are 2.5" catback, aem sri and a hi flow cat. Other then that, its bone stock. I've read a lot about stock ls' making good power with boost. So i picked up an ENTIRE kit off of another LS owner that he had on his car for 4 months.

I'm currently a technician at a Midas doing general maintenence work so im deffinately comfortable around a car but this is an ENTIRE different world of cars that I have zero experience with.
IMO any head swap to my car is pointless. I know a ls/vtec turbo is gonna make more power but this is my daily.
I will be posting up plenty of pics and checking HT on a daily basis. The reason i chose tonight to start the thread is because i started tonight on the build.
My first picture are from the setup of tonight. Got the inner fender linings off and up on jacks secure. Our Midas closes at 6 and i usually leave around 630 7 so i only had about an hours worth of daylight left. We've been having horrible weather the past few days but today was a perfect day to start. I'll eventually post up pictures from the first days of me owning this car up until tonight when i drove it home from work. I hope everyone enjoys this build.

kit was bought new i believe off of ebay, and he had it on the car for a little bit but then parted the kit from the car. its got a godspeed fmic, dp, greddy type rs knock off bov and 2 1/4 intercooler piping. he also included an already tapped oil pan for the return. basically its a install, plug and play
manifold doesnt look the greatest but it'll do the job. just picked up new valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, and manifold gasket. should be a fun project

voltage blue metallic ***(VBM)*** havent seen many other decent looking voltage blue integras so as soon as i saw it for sale i jumped on it.

And thats pretty much it. I've enjoyed the car a lot since owning it. First got it still in high school. Any integra to me was fine as far as the car that I REALLY wanted and daily but the paint got me. Did some research shortly after about the color and found out it was pretty rare. Some gsr's came in it, some four doors, and i think it was only 2000 and 2001.

I'm really contemplating about painting my car Voltage Blue since I'll be doing a complete color change. Such a clean/smooth easy on the eye color. Nice pick up.
nice DC man. when you say ebay Turbo kit, do you mean you bought a good kit from a private seller on eBay? or is it a knock off kit from there? if its a knock off, than you should get a better quality Turbo and a good Turbo manifold. eBay kits are known for melting ans failing
alright everyone. got some progress today after i got off of work. got home around 430 and just started goin to town. all together, the stock exhaust manifold is off, intake is off, front bumper is off, fender wells are off, new turbo manifold sanded down and painted flat black, and we took off the compressor sides housing to clean it up. there was a decent bit of grime so a good cleaning is well worth. i only got two pictures off what was down just because my phone died while i was outside and thats all i had for pictures.


and now for some pictures taken about a week ago. finally got some decent stance. just need my fenders rolled and some wider wheels and tires.






Tomorrow is my day off so plenty of work goin into it tomorrow. Everyone have a happy easter.

it was an ebay kit that he bought and ran for a couple of months. then parted the entire kit from the car including ecu with an already chipped ecu for a 98 ls. the wastegaste has a 10psi spring it. ecu was street tuned in the previous owners car. then was taken to a dyno day. put down 235whp and 200wtq. How i look at those numbers is that im double whp and wtq. LS' make 140 crank hp and 115 tq. so around 110-120whp and 100tq. KA CHING
O and everyone note that this is me and my dad's project for the next couple of weeks so if i ever say "we" its me and him
sorry for the late post. today we actually covered some ground but did run into some problems. full size radiator has to go, BUT i was told a thicker half size will do the job just fine. ordering that tomorrow once i find one that i want. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
some extensive cleaning of the intercooler pipes and compressor side housing was done today. dude didn't run an type of filter for the turbo so it was full of ****. and that scared the living crap out of me. one of my brother's friends has a 50 trim he would be willing to sell to me that is brand new. $100. I think I'm going to stick with mine though just because the tune is set up for the kit that I have. Down the road, a new turbo, manifold, intercooler and piping, and downpipe will be installed. I have to start somewhere.

ac was deleted completely in the end. screw it i have only ever REALLY needed ac one time in the 2 years of owning it.
If anyone has a half size radiator for sale, please let me know. The car is ok sitting for however long because i also have a s10 but i want to drive this freakin thing. The only other turbo car i have ever driven was my friend's 06 WRX. The ones with the 2.5 but its not a STi.
And now i'm off to surf the interwebs for half size radiators

all that we have left now is hooking up the downpipe, running the drain and feed for the turbo, making up some sort of intake for the turbo, installing the half size radiator i got from a eg civic for 60 bucks, (
)soldering resistors for the injectors, and adding coolant and oil. I plugged the ecu in this morning including the jumper harness. the fmic is all mounted up minus the clamps for the couplers. car could potentially be running by this evening. all depends on how smooth the rest of the day goes.
