just want to know what a "safe" WHP goal would be for a stock LS integra..

My friend has an Integra with a stock LS motor.
It is in good shape compression checks ok and leak down tests ok.

He is looking to boost the stock motor first and perhaps in the future rebuild it when necessary. With that being said, he isnt going for big power right away. .

What would be a safe WHP figure to aim for as a goal ?

What turbo would be best matched for the LS motor for quick spool?

he is thinking of going with a b16 head for Ls-vtec. Is this a good match for LS-vtec builds?

or should he just go with a GSR to boost?

Will both motors yeild same power once built with forged internals??

A good log type manifold will reach your power goals and let you keep a/c & p/s and a full size radiator. I really like my spoolin log manifold but i've heard good things about inlinepro and a few other companies on here to.

My old ls-t ran the revhard cast mani with a t3/t4 57 trim turbo which had full boost by 3k which is great for the low reving ls motor. As for future plans, you just need to figure out what you want to do. Id say go with a 100% gsr motor, but there are plenty of great ls-v's out there if done right with the girdle setup and what not.

O as for stock sleeves and pistons 300hp seems to be the SAFE limit for the stock ringlands, after that they just don't seem to hold up much longer. The sleeves can take more but the stock cast pistons are the only set back

My friend is thinking of using either a precision GT3251b, or t3/t04b 50 trim.

How long could a stock LS motor last tuned for 300whp...of course if the engine checks out fine i.e compression check and leak down test

you can make more with the gsr head, it's just a better head and you'll have bigger cams. that said the stock LS gets nervous when yous start going to 8200 frequently. if the goal is 300whp the engine by all means should live longer making 300whp on the ls head and only going to 7000rpm than it would using a few lbs less boost on the gsr head but going to 8200rpm.

Having 300whp in a stock LS is fine. Just because one revs higher, doesn't make the system any better. But, speaking honestly, you'd be surprised how well a 260whp LS can stack up to a lot of other cars.

And as an FYI Precision no longer uses parts for the GT3251b.

So, precision is your only option? Not Borg-Warner, Turbonetics, Garrett or Comp? I'm sure precision has some of their smaller CEA versions available. May need to give them a call.
