So im looking into getting a EK hatch for a all motor project.....
My friends dad has a MINTY 99 EK hatch with 300K MILES!!! Always been garaged, LOADS of highway obv. NO rust, or any signs of major body issues. I would be replacing basically everything mechanical, motor, suspension, harness', and all manual components b/c it is a automatic as it sits......
My question is if i can get the whole car for well under $1000, running and driving as is, would you do it for a project car? I want to build a hatch all out pretty much, and i think this might be a great shell for it....
What would you do?>

chassis mileage doesnt really matter if you plan to strip it... Ive been pondering on the thought to buy an ek hatch shell and swapping over most everything from my em1. I would do it!

yea i think im gonna jump on it....rather than rix the bumper on my truck....im gonna buy it and stick it in the yard until the Coupe sells....
Frames do wear out over time, but hardly to the point of making it undrive-able or unsafe. If it's clean title and rust free I'm sure it will be fine like others have said. The only thing I wouldn't consider a high milage frame for personally would be a full time track car that I wanted to win with, but even then, you can just drop the body on a tube frame chasis if that was your plan.
