6 gen ex rear disk/ MC questions
any of u guys have a 6 gen civic ex swap to rear disks?
i got a set of del sol rear disks, i am just wondering if my 7/8 civic ex MC is ok?
somepeople told me that my stock prop valve is ok, some say its not ok, some have even stated that the si mc is the same as the ex...(i know it sounds weird, ex got drums in the back, si got disks)
what size is the 99 si mc? 7/8 or 15/16 (i know that the tags got a 15/16 MC)
please let me know if u guys got any info on this, or if you guys did this brake swap on a 6 gen ex w/o changing the mc/ bb/ PV
thanks

The SI M/C is the same with maybe a larger reservoir as to hold more brake fluid, but yours will be fine. If you really want to upgrade do the ITR M/C and brake booster swap. It really cuts down on the amount of pedal travel and just bolts right into 6th gen cars. The brake lines match up perfectly!

i just did a parts search for the two MC, the OE honda part number for the 99+ si and the ex are the same!!! at lease the years that i searched (97-00) if its the same part number, it must be the same part, and i just went outside to look at my and my friend's civic ex and my civic ex (my is a 97 his is a 00) and both our MC are 7/8
i think only the 5 gen si's (3 door HB) have 15/16 mc (i may be wrong)
i am pretty sure now that the 99+ si's have 7/8 mc (i may be wrong)

any value in using a 99-00 Si Prop valve on my hatch with 5-lug conversion and ITR MC?
Hrm... that doesn't make logical sense to me, that the prop valve on a car with discs/drums is the same as on a car with all discs. I'll have to call Honda to verify, but if you're right, then I'm boggled...

IMO rear disks do not take anymore pressure to make them work...so I just don't, and didn't see the necessity of upgrading...if the MC has enough pressure to adaquately push the front disks there shouldn't be a differance for the rear. since one front, and one rear wheel is on each system. the pressure should be equal for front and rear.
