Default Type R LSD in a 90-91 cable LS trans?

I have searched and have come up with mixed answers, some say yes, others say no. will the type R lsd fit inside of a small spline 90-91 LS transmission? My dad is wanting to put one in his b20 powered crx and wants to know before picking one up.

Help is always appriciated

The ITR LSD can not be used in the early 88-91 B series transmission. The ring gear will not fit because the center hole is too small for this LSD and you can not use the later ring gear in this trans. Your best bet is to get an aftermarket B16 LSD.
