noob question please help freelog with crome
ok i downloaded free crome been playing with it awhile. an heard about freelog so i found it an downloaded it... an heres were i need help
i know nothing about it straight up. besides that its free datalogging
is it its own program that runs seprate from crome because after i downloaded it i couldnt find it on my comp till i looked threw search bar. which is just a buch of files if i open.. i did notice on crome real time programin had read, write, and verify
i cant use it to see wat it does because i dont have a datalogging cable yet wanted to learn more b4 i purchased it an if anone new of step by step to useing it i couldnt find anything. do i just buy the data cable plug in play or wat? i have crome version 1.53 an freelog version 1.0.93
gota learn somhow so no hater only helpers

take a look at this link
using LC-1, Crome and Freelog
Freelog is a pain in the butt to setup and use, If i were you I would look into either crome pro or neptune
if you are interested in either pm me and I will help you find them.

met-tuning is right - it is a pain. I know because that's what I use.
Yes, Freelog runs independently of Crome, which is half the reason why it is such a pain. If you are hell-bent on using it, you have to make sure it is set up right. You'll have to search for a while to find a guide to help you set it up.
1. Configure COM port.
2. Configure Wideband
3. Configure RPM scaler
Then you drive around and log your values. After that you make changes in Crome, very small changes.

ok figured most of it out after alot of reseaching now i come apon another problem..
ITS NOT LOGING
wat i have
b20v swaped 99 civic ex
chiped obd1 p72
j12 cut
jumpper harness
hulog xtreme
aem uego widband
crome
freelog
on crome i added dattaloging , removed checksome, running closed loop havnt tryed open loop yet.
aem widband
red wire - connected to radio power
black wire - connected to a good ground
white wire - connected to d10 i traced it back threw the conv harness not sure wat pin it is on the obd2 harness..
blue wire - not used
freelog in settings i set the o2 to wideband then in the widband tab put in the values, conection tab found my com port#
the problem when click connect it says connected and starts only thing i could find it doing is the timeout starts live data tab an p72 batery has a number
did i miss somthing or do anything wrong?

ok now that i put it in open loop on
data capture rpm, row&col, ect, iat, 02, map all work
-but the gear stays in nutral
-o2 is way off from my guage
- the graph dosnt show up any numbers
on other sensors tab it shows some nnumber for afr also alot richer than my gauge
loopback test
opens sucsefully loopback test fail an closed sucsefully same for sanity test. says somthing about cui's can anyone help me out or another link to help me further.. thanks

I inputted all of the voltage vs. Air/Fuel numbers from the AEM P4 table into Freelog.
However, I have the AEM (which is on P4) mimicking a narrowband (0-1v) so that my ECU can actually function as if it has an o2 sensor.
Does Freelog look for the o2 input in the D14 pin, or the D10 pin (D10 is the stock o2 sensor wire, D14 is what Crome wants you to wire your wideband to)?
Hmmmmm.....
Mine also fails loopback test. Going to play with wiring (again).
EDIT: Finally figured out that the loopback test requires jumping Tx and Rx wires to see if the loopback works. Will try this to be sure that my HULOG is in working order!

Freelog doesn't work with Crome 1/4 of the time meaning you get mostly garbage data.
Did you also solder in the capacitors or have them installed on the board for datalogging?

I dismantled the cable (which was pink/orange/black/red, not black/white/red/whatever) and switched 1 for 4 and 2 for 3. WORKS PERFECTLY!
I can't get Crome Pro to actually log closed throttle situations very much (even though I have 0 or -10% for minimum throttle) but datalogging works well in general for it.
The problem I'm having now with Freelog is that there's no lambda correction. Whatever voltage I put in (for my AEM UEGO wideband) is final. My AEM UEGO needs a correction of -0.06 or -0.07 to be accurate (the voltages are slightly off) but with Crome, this can be done.
I like Freelog better in terms of the tables you can see. But the air/fuel being so far off makes it virtually unusable to me.
Thanks for your reply, stranger!
