Clutch problem w/ 97 LS Teg. Help please.
I was out driving one night and my teg was running and shifting fine and all of a sudden the clutch stopped working. The car starts up fine but when I put the car into first or reverse, I give the car gas and let out the clutch nothing happens. The car doesn't move at all. I don't know a whole lot about cars and I am trying to learn as much as possible but what should I do and what could have caused this to happen?
does the clutch pedal have any feedback? Pressure? seems like either you slave or your clutch master cylinder has taken a dump. That, or your disk has seen better days. Your next step is to see if your hydraulic system is working correctly, if it is, then look into a clutch swap.
So your saying you can put the car into gear, [any gear] with engine running,is that correct?
Will it go into gear without stepping on clutch?
If so, the clutch is disengaged and not engaging for some reason.
If not, you have a broken axle, [most likely] or transmission, [less likely]. 94

Yes, that is what I am saying. When the car is in 1st or reverse, I hold my foot on the gas pedal and let out the clutch like normal as if I was going to normally take off in 1st but nothing happens. While on the gas I can move the clutch in and out as many times as I want and the car won't budge at all.
Have someone step on and off the clutch while you look at the clutch slave cylinder to make sure it is moving the clutch release fork, #3... http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...s=&view=normal back and forth, you will need to move the fork boot, #6 to get a clear view. 94

The hydraulics work fine so the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder are working it has to be the drivetrain or differential or something. Correct me if I wrong though. I am moving on to the differential and the first thing the Acura service manual tells me to do is to do a backlash inspection and I am totally lost on this. I'm not even sure what I am doing I am just following common sense and following the service manual. I don't have any experience in this type of stuff at all.
okay so it seems that your hydrolic system is working fine. that's good. my next question is did you look under the car and see if your axles have popped out? seems weird but that happened to me once. the axle came out the transmission side and car didn't move.
If all looks good and pedal pressure feels fine, put it in fourth gear, let go of the clutch with no gas. if the clutch is good the car should automatically stall. If it doesn't it means you should most likely replace your clutch. Hope everything works out for you.

I checked the axles. I am gonna have to replace the clutch. The clutch was basically falling out of the drivetrain when we stuck some thin metal up beside the flywheel and plate. It fell out in pieces. Thanks for all of your help though guys, at least I learned something.
