Is high oil pressure bad on a honda?

Time for a tech chat lol
I have my car at a shop and they are checking my car over before they tune it. was running it for a little while and found a few things. well, the oil pressure gauge says 90 psi at cold idle. If i remember correctly, it went down to about 40 when warm. if the pressure shoots up to 100+ (guage maxes out) is it necessarily a bad thing?
Precision says they dont want to see more than 90 psi through there turbo MAX. so a inline oil restriction will help that out to my knowledge. i have upgraded to a apocalypse oil pump. just a modified oil pump to flow more oil. bearings are torqued to spec.
b20b with a b16 head. stock bore, 5w30 oil.
What will high oil pressure do to a b20 vtec engine? i would think that a higher oil pressure is better for flow meaning EVERYTHING es getting oil. i know you can use a stock one, but that will be so much money to re install a factory oil pump back on.

thats a lot of pressure....you will need a oil restrictor.
also what kind of 5w30 oil? different oil have different viscosity and can affect oil pressure.

well, since it a new oil, im just using some good-ol farm and fleet oil for break in since i cant use synthetic. i mean is it too much oil pressure for the engine?
no its not to much for the engine. the turbo is another story....also be careful what oil filter you run on engines with modified oil pumps....cheap fram filters tend to collapse internally.

ok. I was hoping the inline oil restrictor would help the turbo more. engine wise, is what the shop guy and i are trying to figure out. What about HAMP oil filters? OR will a K@n filter break up also lol
Just know what that size oil restrictor you're using, or you'll kill the turbocharger even faster than without it. .060" in your case is the size to use with that much oil pressure on a journal bearing turbocharger.
look inside the filter....if you see cardboard dont buy it. if you see metal holding it together your golden.

After reading this whats normal oil pressure? Mine at idle when cold is about 30-40 and at cruise is about 80 it jumps up to about 90. Its a stock itr pump, just doesnt seem that differant. I guess if I knew what it peged to it would be another story.
gauges read different....sensor placement....oil.....can all effect pressure readings. when someone says they have a modified oil pump then i expect higher pressure levels.

My gauge use to max out all the time... so i re redid the bearing clearances and torque value in the mains for the bottom end. it dropped to 90 at idle instead of 100+ i dont remember what it rose up to when i drove it to 7k. will the s300 tell me that also?
If high oil pressure is bad for the engine, i wont run it. But it it will be ok to do one dyno run, then we can data log to see whats going to happen with the new bottom end. i just dont want to blow a bunch of gaskets lol
Whoops. i forgot to mention that its a duel ball bearing. If that will make a difference.

Precision can only give you a general answer to a general question, each setup is going to be a little bit different so they can't give you a solid answer. Just think about how many different applications and setups are out there, now if you would of called and told him what type of oil pressure you were seeing ( 90psi at idle ) , anyone of the workers there I'm sure would of told you to run a restrictor .

I did tell them. Thats where the answer, it has the "built in" restrictor came from lol They also said that with the last turbo i had. i said it had 100 psi. They said you you are not suppose to run one. so i didnt use one and literally blew the turbo up. i mean i have pieces of metal shavings that i can scrape off the housing
