Default The end-all be-all thread for wiring questions

Here's my contribution to honda-tech. I pulled the driver side accessory/option harness for my eg 4door today. I though I would document all of this so you could see just how everything does and where it goes for future reference.

*disclaimer* Some of these plugs, wires, and combinations may not apply to your specific model/year/chassis/trim level.

The pictures you see here come from a completely stock 95 ex 4 door model. This means that some options, such as power steering, ABS, and cruise control are not necessary or applicable in all situations.

These pictures are from the driver side auxiliary harness.

First we have the wiper motor. This located under the cowl. The cowl is removed by first taking out the 8 or so round push clips, then the rectangular ones under the rubber trim. WARNING. You'll probably ***** these up when trying to take them out, I know I did... It's five wires with a paralellogram-type dealio connector.

The wires are blue, blue with a white stripe, blue with a yellow stripe, green with a black stripe, and black. You guys can figure out the wiring yourselves. I'm gonna guess black is your ground, green w/ black is constant, and the blues are your wiper speed variations. Here you'll see the end of it, cut. I did this so I could get the harness out and take it home to work on it. I will be soldering it back together however.

Next is the primary (front) windshield washer motor. It is a green "L-shaped" plug that plugs right into the resevoir on the driver side behind the bumper. The two wires attached to it are solid black, and green with a black stripe.

Then comes the secondary (rear) windshield washer motor. This applies only to hatches as far as I'm aware (possibly JDM sedans as well?). It is a red or brown "L-shaped" connector. The two wires attached to it are green with a yellow stripe and solid black.

Next is some sort of power steering plug. I do not yet know what this is exactly. It has two wires. A brown with a red stripe, and solid black.

Here is the cruise control module. It is a square or rectangular connector which sits directly next to the power steering pump. It has 4 wires: Black, solid brown, brown with a white stripe, and brown with a black stripe.

Then there's the ABS. This runs down to the driver's side wheel hub, and comes out right on the shock tower. It is an orange plug, the only one of it's kind on this side of the bay. It has two wires which are brown with a black stripe, and solid green.

Next is the blinker. This is what it says it is. It plugs right into the blinker bulb socket. It has three wires. Solid green, solid black, and red with a black stripe.

Lastly is the headlight socket. This is not hard to find. It is a black rectangular connector with 3 wires. Red with a yellow stripe, red with a green stripe, and solid black. No picture yet.

I hope this resource is useful. If I missed anything, please let me know so I may correct and/or add it. I plan to add more in the future, but this is the only harness I got out of my car today.
