Icon2 b18c engine info OBD1 to OBD2 ecu wireharness compatibility

So i pulled a real dumb move by buying a b18c engine with no wire harness or ecu. Along with that, i have no clue if its OBD1 or OBD2.

I currently drive a 96 civic ex. - So i heard you can use the civic ex's engine harness on either OBD1 or OBD2 gsr engine. true or false?

Someone even suggested i can use my civic ECU with my civic wire harness for this engine?

Did i shoot myself in the foot?

You can use your ex harness. You will need the corresponding injectors, dizzy and alternator to go with it.

You can run an obd2 to obd1 ecu jumper harness and run an obd1 ecu or just run a stock obd2 ecu.

Running the civic ECU is retarded. Tell whoever suggested that to you to shove it up their ahole.

It doesn't matter if the motor is naturally obd1 or obd2

i kinda thought running a civic ecu on a b18c was out of the question.

so when you say run corresponding dizzy and injectors, do you mean integra stuff or civic stuff?

Thx!!!

You can use your civic EX fuel injectors on the B18c if it doesn't have obd2 style injecors. You must use your civic EX engine harness in the EK chassis anyway, so it isn't much of a problem not having the B18C harness. Use the GSR distributor and just change the distributors plug to match your engine harness plug. You may have to extend wires for the intake air temp, iacv, vtec solenoid, and vtec pressure switch. I'd also highly recommend using an obd2a to obd1 jumper harness and chipped P72 ECU rather than trying to use an obd2 gsr ecu, wire up knock sensor, etc...
