just installed the walbro 255 kit and getting 20psi( got gauge on fuel filter) itr motor, was getting like 44 psi with stock 91 si fp. now car wont start, it cranks and started once but died out. do i need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. i followed haynes manual to change it. thanks!

 

Recheck fuel pump install.
Is walbro pump new?
Is fuel filter new?

 

wlabro is new, and fuel filter i changed like 2 months ago. will re check the lines n fuel pump.

 

return and feed lines seem reversed

 

i doubt it, i never touched the ones on the filter. i jacked up the car from the front cause i read in a post that the pupm was short and it wasnt getting enough fuel. after jacking it and trying i got 45 psi but still wouldnt turn on. so i released the presure from the filter bolt and only air came out, i repeated this till gas came out and the the car started. as long as it was elevated from the fron it stayed on but as soon as i dropped it it started dying. so i ma lower the pump a bit. thanks for your help.

 

just like mine before. My problem that I dont close tight the cover under passenger seats (if u ever open it) or u can check again the cover by the fuel pump. Tight not necesarily tight tight, make sure it's vacuum. Check if the rush sucking of air when u open the gas tank after the engine run.

 

so i lowered the pump n it turned on. but am still running lower psi that my stock fuel pump. i ran like 44 and no im at the 32 level.

 

it's nothing to do with lower the pump.

 

all hose clamps on the pump good and tight? i had a fuel pump replaced at a shop once. they forgot to put a hose clamp back on the sending unit right above the pump. car would die after half tank cause after the fuel went down past that hose it was sucking air instead
