Default electrical problem. plz help

Ok I got a 98 Ls auto sometimes I have problems with it starting and killing the battery ok I took it to advance auto parts and the tested the battery and they said it was a lil low but good and then they tested the alternator and tested it was not charging the battery. Ok so I took the alternator off took to auto zone and they said it was fine but sounded a lil funny so I got a new one put it on and the same the battery it reading 11.87v but now my battery light is on and my speedo is acting all funny sometimes. But it don't seem like its killing the battery fast I and still driving. Fine with it plz help

if your bat is reading that low while its on then one of your connections or grounds are jacked up or the ELD in the fuse box under the hood is causing the prob. If its the eld u have to replace the whole fuse box.

Charged battery should read 12.6VDC when the car is off, and approximately 13.8VDC when the engine is running (and no significant load, such as fans, lights, a/c).

If you are seeing 11.something while it's running, the alternator is not charging.
