Default 18 and starting my del sol...

okay i bought a de sol a month ago its clean and only has 90k on it, i whent from a supercharged SVT focus that was eating sti'sand whatever else i came across, EXEPT some honda ofcourse, so i sold that wanting a honda to build and stuff, so far ive only dropped it on coil overs, removed the spoiler and put mud guards and blacked out tail lights, all cosmetic nothing with the motor.

i wanna swap the motor, but im hearing ls is best way to go, or b series, or go mini me, or boost mine.

what should i do?

im 18 and on a budget, a low one

Start saving. Can't go fast with no money. Mini-me? Waste of money. You'll still be slow. LS? A little faster but you'll still be slow. Everything else with horsepower is gonna cost you depending on where you live.

Ultimately swap in a B series, build it and boost it.

if u had a s.c focus, how much money u sell that thing for and how much u buy for this de sol..... where the hell rest of the money go...

newho save every penny, build a b, dont cheap out and buy no name, ebay parts, just because it saves u a pretty penny.

I love my b18c1, paid $2500 for it, but well worth it in the long run....
But plenty of options, my buddy has a ls./vtec s.c in his sol making 300hp 210 trq.

how much r u willing to spend? how much hp r u looking for?

I don't know if that's a typical price in your area but most will probably tell you that's a bit much.

I sold my b16a for $700. Trans in Ga are about $250-300. LS motors go for about $4-500

IMO, keep the body as stock as possible (unless you want to make the car lighter then get CF hood and stuff). Also your engine is 90k miles? THAT ENGINE IS STILL GOOD. why bother spending money on a new engine when the engine your'e still has a ton of life left on it? boost it.

Just save.

There is not point thinking of buying things when you can't afford to do it right.

I know that my deffinetion of doing it right is differen't from your's, but please for don't half *** it and ruin the car. There are so many cars that have been destroyed by 18 yr old's and their lack of the abiltity to do anything the "right" way.

Start buy fixing things that are wrong with the car, not buy making it fast. Make it look good, handle good and so on.

Remember your 18, you don't need a fast car. All it will do is get you in trouble.

Not to be a dick, but I see these threads all the time, and you likely have no clue what you want or what your talking about and wont do a swap for a LONG time.
