Code 12 (EGR), Stalling at idle, & not starting at times
Car:1991 Acura Integra LS
Motor:B18A1
Transmission: Automatic
Problem:Check Engine Light is on and is pulling a code 12 which I have found in my Chiltons manual is EGR. I have been having issues with the car stalling at idle and then it doesn't start right back up and have to let it sit for a little bit. The idle on the car has been horrible also so I was planning on cleaning the IVAC and replacing the fuel filter, but I am in need of some vacuum diagram help.
It seems that the manifold is not stock, as it has a cold air intake pipe and I cannot find an EGR Valve anywhere, so what I need to know does that mean I need to plug up some ports?
I have two hoses coming out of a black control box on the passenger side firewall. I see in the manual the hose (marked with a 12) goes to a port on the rear of the manifold but I have no empty ports so its just sitting there. And the hose marked with a 16 goes to the EGR Valve which cannot be found.
Thanks for your help in advance and will try to answer any questions as best as I can.
I have also replaced spark plugs, spark wires, and distributor when I bought the car a few months ago.

But if I don't have an EGR valve how do I ensure it does not stay open? Sorry only know a little about the EGR system.
Again any help is appreciated.

Changed the Fuel Filter and it did the trick. Still going to clean the IAVC to ensure it stays good. I also used a bottle of fuel injector cleaner.
I am having a similar issue with my 92 Prelude Si4WS with 99k miles on it. It has random miss when idling that continues when driving it also starts a harder than usual. I recently had issues with the distributor and replaced it. After replacing the distributor, the engine still idled rough so i replaced the fuel filter, spark plug wires, checked my timing, cleaned my FITV, and IACV which were perfectly clean to begin with. everything seems good. Then I got a cel that turned out to be the egr. I removed the egr and cleaned it as best i could and it still idles rough. I've checked for the plugs to clean the egr ports on the intake manifold but they are welded over so there is no plug and i would rather not go drilling holes in the intake. I have also tried sealing off the egr port and it still ran rough. I am running out of ideas. My next guess is the coil or the injectors.
Does anybody have any other ideas? I'm getting desperate.

So it turned out I just needed to replace my spark plugs. I pulled off my coil to check if it spec'd out which it did then i noticed a crack in the plastic housing. I took it down to napa and they didn't think it was a problem and talked me into new plugs instead of a new coil. My original plugs lasted 60k and were still good when i replaced them. I figured they were due for a change. The new platinum ones were rated to 100k but they only lasted 40K and were the cause of all my problems. I doubt i'll go back to those plugs.
The crack in my coil is an inch long just along the core. Should I be worried about it? I live in Montana and do a lot if interstate driving from Butte to Missoula which are 120 miles apart and there's not much in between and I really don't want to get stranded in the middle of nowhere.
