finally made my first "productinon" long tube header
this is for 2002-2005 cavi's and sunfire's. i put the proto up a few months back. well i sent it in and had it digitized and i finally got all my prebent pieces and flanges for the production one back. i think it turned out pretty good. it took a hell of alot longer then i thought it was going to, to assemble and weld it. but like most of my stuff im happy with the end result. i think ill be able to make the next one a little quicker. any ways heres the pics..........

Very nice. I remember when you did this. The design is so clean and simple.
Great job on getting a production piece going. Very important IMO to success in the fab world.

getting the proto digitized pretty much. once the guy did that he made pictures of each tube in solid works or some program of that nature and`bent them out on a mandrel bender. "turbo" i just upped my gas lense and cup size nothing super special in case u thought it was lol.

Looks really good Mike! Mandrel bent stuff is fun to work with huh. One question about the collector. Because of the angle the tubes come out is it possible to weld all the way around the runners?
In the fab world, if you want to make money, you make the parts that are demanded. Im sure there is plenty of demand for a nice header if he had the pieces mandrel bent for faster production.
to be honest i dont ask alot for my stuff (compared to other markets prices) and the neons/srt's and j-bodies dont have any support (well none of quality anyways), thats pretty much why. theres no point to try and get into the honda, mitsu or any other jap or european market those are all covered. besides im into the sow american sport compact cars anyways. and vince i use boiler paste on the collector joints so when i weld them the heat hardens the past and seal the slip on connection. im surprised u were the first person to ask that. oh and theres isnt really a demand for these things well there may be but people cant or dont want to pay to play. but ever so often when somebody does want one and the initial one is long gone i have the fixture and digi's to make one with no guessing.

well i dont know if thats what its known as, thats just what i know it as it. may be called something else by the guys that actually use it for its intended purposes.

i started in the vw market, but i sucked *** back then, im blackmkIII on vortex, and yes to bad ur in tx. anyways the whole point of bumping this was just to throw the last pictures of these things up. i just got the proto back from ceramic coating and i wanted to throw up some pics of it and the stainless production one side by side. the proto looks awesome after the cermic coating in my opinion. i like the welds in it, it just makes it look more custom u know.........
