Scared the piss outta myself on the way home tongiht..
Well getting on the freeway following a friend boosting a few psi I hear a LOUD blow out of air like my BOV exploded or something.... then I can't boost if I try, and my turbo's whistle sounds REALLY strange, so I pull over to inspect and I can't see anything wrong...
Just got home and with my eye and a friends we finally found the culprit... the ic piping from the turbo "blew off" and is hanging there and explains everything. I was praying the whole time it was merely this instead of a blown turbo or worse yet blown motor.... thank god. Of course this **** has to happen the night I have to wake up early so I can hitup the dyno tomorrow :/ Anyway just waiting for the car to cool down so I can handle it and put it back on and tighten it up all the way.

This never happened before, and when I checked the afc to see what I boosted (my max is 8psi) I only hit .47bar with is a little over 7 or at 7
Ok clamped the IC pipe back on the turbo, boosted around the town for 5 mins and now calling it a night..... gotta wake up in 5 hours tho, that sucks uhg
I did that at 18psi on my Civic a couple times..
Hasn't happend to my teg yet though
Scared the **** out of me too.. and I was ready to beat the **** out of the mechanic since it just left the garage a couple days earlier.. till i realised it was the intercooler piping

spray some aquanet on the piping and the endtank pipe, it will help it stay better. i read that the other day on this site.
bead welding is your friend

I was too lazy to get my ic pipes bead welding, Ive had my charge pipes blow off on me quite a few times...ive even had one rip and leak and took me forever to figure out why i only could boost 4 psi lol once i took the wastegate vac line off, i finally figured out it was a leak.
i had that happin a few times when am at 15psi
but atleast it wasnt anything major!
i remember when the piping to the throttle body popped out when i turned up the boost to 9psi one day. i was trippen that i blew my motor.. or my headgasket.
happens all the time, kinda exciting the first time, annoying the 2nd time, and straigh up pisses me the **** off every time after. thats why you have to ratchet down the hose clamps or weld the pipes or get used to stopping and putting hte pipe back on
it happened to me at the race-track too. just boostin along spiked 10psi or so KABWAAAMM right in front of the bleachers too, so i just rolled to the finish line and then fixed it in the staging lanes, im a bumper-removing pro.

I think one of the tricks, too, is to use a nut-driver to tighten the clamps, not a screwdriver, since you'll get more surface area and can torque it on more. I cut the pipes myself (which means it's sketchy heh) and put them together with normal clamps and after over a thousand miles at mostly 7psi I haven't had any probs
hehe i had a similar instance....blew my fuel line off my pump at WOT getting on the highway, engine went dead at 90 MPH....now THATS scary.
Napa... Here's a pic. They call them "T-Bolt Clamps" also. About 3 bucks a pop, or more, WELL worth the $30 it might take to put em all over the piping.
Look at the inlet for my intercooler.
