I just got my car tuned and was driving it home. Everything was fine so I upped the boost to 15psi and smashed on it. Half way through the first gear the car felt weird and the turbo became louder. It had a loud whistling noise or something like that. I also noticed that the bov isn't going off now.

Anybody have any clue what it might be? Is my bov dead? Did something come loose? I couldn't find any loose cables. The turbo gets louder when I accelerate or press on the gas. At idle its quiet.

do u still have any power? if not then one of your charge pipes might have come apart at the coupler, check them. Also after getting it tuned, are u SURE u were able to turn it up to 15lbs or did u just get it tuned for like 7lbs and then think "oh its tuned now so i can turn it up" ?

lol...you blew off a charge pipe.....thats why your tubos louad and making 0 boost to run your bov....and like dc teg said are you even tuned for 15 psi?

Its not about if the tune will run 15psi, its about if the motor can handle it.

The charge pipe theory sounds plausible though.

Oh no, it was tuned for both 10 and 15psi. The motor is built with stock sleeves so it'll handle the 15psi. I'll definitely check the charge pipes. That sound like it could be right b/c I don't feel like there's power when I did try to accelerate. Thanks for the info guys

If you don't have much of an intake, you should be able to hear the turbo whistling through that, too.

As for the BOV not working... if the piping is solid, listen for compressor surge and that will tell you that your BOV isn't working right.

And of course it's going to get louder when you stomp on it... I've never heard an engine that was louder at idle than at speed.
