Default vtec switch

ok guys...heres the deal...i put a d15b (SOCH VTEC) into my 91 hb. i have a shift light that i want to use to engage my vtec. im not planning n changing the vtec points so dont worry about that. but i was just wondering if i do this will need to get a new ecu or will my dx ecu work? and will my dx disributor work too. thanks guys

not sure on that. isn't that the head that has a two stage vtec? what idid it come out of a vx or cx? normally the shiftlite would work fine, jsut not sure what it will activate if its the two stage. anyone else know?

uhhh no u cannot use ur dx distirbuter or the ecu u need to run mpfi and use at least a p28 from a 92+ si with the d16z6

you can do it without changing ECU's. Get a Chilton's manual, and look at the wiring for the d15b. im running a similar setup. Youll also have to modify the distributer somewhat.

ull have issues with fuel having a bigger cam and not enough fuel....the d15b is similar to a z6 which has a diff distributer design from the b15b2 which is in a crx it wont bolt on so i recomend getting a z6 distributer and ecu running obd1 and have the best setup u can have
