Default B18c + ITB + toda killer

Hi guys,
I have a B18c motor (200HP). Now I want to get ITB instead of stock intake and toda vtec killer camshafts.

1. will i need harder valve springs?
2. what exhaust mani would you recommend for this set? Hitech or RMF would be ok?
3. will i be able to run it up to 10k rmp?
4. do i need to change the OEM pistons?

I'm looking for 250hp+ is it a good way to make it?

No.

Old technology, and WAY overpriced. If you're serious about the 250 mark, you need to sleeve the block to 2.0 liter and have extensive headwork, IM and header/exhaust flow. Pro3's or some cams from ALL M0T0R. Every stock component in your engine will need replaced...hope you have a big bank act..

Please read this:

Your questions are all over the place.

1) anytime you upgrade to aftermarket cams you need stronger springs/retainers.
2) there is no perfect exhaust manifold. If there were, there would only be one for sale on the market. Different manifolds suit different budgets, power goals, etc.
3) you can run anything up to 10krpm, is it a good idea? You should probably rev your motor until it quits making power. This is typically what the redline is. Having new cams doesn't make your redline higher.
4) in some cases aftermarket cams do warrant aftermarket pistons, the ITR engine is not one of those where you need to get radical with the bottom end to upgrade your valvetrain.

250whp on a b18c is going to require a lot of investment. You're looking at 12.5:1+ compression, and all kinds of exciting and expensive bottom end work. Everything about your engine is going to have to change.

A header and cams isn't going to get anyone with any b-series anywhere near 250whp. A killer header, a good set of cams, and some solid tuning would be a lot closer to what you're talking about on an h2b setup.

I see you are new to the site so before anyone rips your head off I'll try and help you out a bit.

The ITB's and Killer cams ALONE will not get you to that power level. You will need a lot more work done to get there.

1. If you are going to run Toda Vtec killer cam you should also run their valve train.
2. I would recommend you call Hytech or SMSP and let them no your plans and powers goal and they will tell you what kind of products they can provide. You will not be able to reach Randy (RMF) he is out of business.
3. You most likely will not make power at 10K, so why run your motor that high.
4. To get to the power level you will def need to replace you OEM piston. You will also need a lot more than just piston.

5. You need to reach before you ask questions around here. There is a lot of information on this site that will point in the right direction. HINT Use GOOGLE. For example search 250whp honda-tech. Or anything for that matter just put in honda-tech after and it will find it.

thanks for all replies. I just wanted to give an example from polish forum. It's my friend's B16a1 with stock bottom end and stage2 cams + ITB

http://passwordjdm.pl/viewtopic.php?...r=asc&start=60

after first dyno he got something like this
http://www.fotosik.pl/pokaz_obrazek/...067b35b03.html

and it's only a start
It's a daily driver and everything works just fine i think 220HP is quite impressive for as you can see a "home bulid" motor.

I'll look for answers on forum before I ask any questions from now on.

edit. we run on 100 octane gasoline (it's purchasable on every gas station in Poland)

So it quickly went from bench racing about Vtec killers, to look at my "220" hp B16, to a shopping list of parts. Yeah...this thread took a dump.
