Default European CR-V 1998 ES

Hi guys,

Im keen on linking my ECU to a carputer i have running. Thing is, i only have a vague idea how to go about it without lobotomising my car.

I have found my ECU ...check!
I have researched the protocols ...check!
I have some software, in fact i got a lot of software to use with it and interrogate the car ECU ...check!

found information of a guide on how to accomplish this feat of technical wizardry ...Failed!

I'm pretty 99% sure my car ecu is OBD1, as i have the 5+8 connectorsd and not the 16 pin connectors common on OBD2 models. Not a problem, as most things have a OBD2 connector, i have an adapter.
Now, how can i link the two together?

Is there a spliter tail i need? do i splice cables? hire a mozambican voodoo whitch doctor?

Has anyone done this before? i found a few other forums but the users are no longer on the forums so im not getting anythng there.

Someone throw this guy a line please and reel him into the sanity ship.

first off, what are you looking to do? You will more than likely need to find an ecu that you can chip or tune.

for Op's humor.

OP.. what are you trying to accomplish?

looking into the same model year civic for electrical hack's and hook ups is likely to net you more results on the internet. and it should pretty much apply to the crv word for word.
