Power window is 'jumping'
I have a 98 Civic EX Coupe and the driver's side window, for lack of a better term is "jumping". Basically, when I am rolling the window up it gets about a 1/2 inch away from the top seal and just starts jumping, trying to go up and just goes back down. I've never had problems with this window before and I've always kept lubed with silicone to prevent binding.
I pulled the door panel off, the tracks are straight, for some reason the genius' at Honda decided to not give owners a direct view of the regulator and window gear but when I felt where the regulator turns that gear and it's not slipping and all of the teeth are the same height. The window regulator just seems to go 95% of the way and then just shakes the gear. I'm thinking the regulator motor is stripped internally or going bad but I want to get some second opinions to make sure I'm not missing anything.
Any help is appreciated!

You gotta replace the window regulator. Same thing happend to me and I thought it was the motor.
Do it soon before you mess up the motor, and your better off getting a new one from honda.
There should be a detailed diy on here or somewhere.

I found a DIY on hondacivicforum so I'll leave the link here for anyone else

I had that same problem not too long ago. I took out my regulator because I thought it was bent but it was perfectly fine. I just greased up all the rails and it's worked fine ever since.
Just take out the regulator and grease all the moving parts. Especially the part at the ends of the gear. I think thats why mine wouldn't go up all the way because both ends of the gear were metal on metal with the motor.
Everything is greased well, my hands were covered in it after feeling around the regulator and motor. Is there something better than silicone to grease the windows with? I've used garage door lube but that seemed to wear off quicker

My driver side just started doing the same thing about the same distance to closed. Still looking for a regulator, but mine has 2 teeth on the regulator gear that have worn down.
i was having trouble with my window too, seems there was alot of dirt and pollen in the rubber track, i cleaned it out cause it was "grabbing" twords the bottom, then trying to kick out of the track when going back up.. i pulled the whole channel out and cleaned it and put it back in.. still seems kinda grabby, are you suppose to grease the rubber in the channel?
