Default "low mileage" turbo with orange exhaust housing

my buddy is looking at buying a used turbo from a local guy. we checked it out, turbine/comp wheel look great, but the CHRA is orange from decoloration. what is that indicative of? it looks like it was run super hard/hot to turn the metal that color. is that necessarily a bad thing?

thanks

That just loks like rust to me. if it was run super hot the turbine housing would be discolored and the heat would be toward the turbine housing on the center section not toward the compressor housing like in the pics, you should be fine.
