Rad fan inoperative, fan works.
So today my car started overheating in traffic. When I got home I let it idle and sure enough the temps rose and the fan did not come on. I jumpered the fan and it works, so Im wondering if these things use a separate CTS to activate the fan..
Any input would be great, thanks in advance.

What engine?
jump the wires going to the ECT and see if the fan comes on.
ECT is the 2 wire "sensor" on the back of the stock block near the oil filter.
On other engines it is found in the thermostat housing.
