Honda MTF

I had Redline in my car for the first 15k miles, but my 2nd to 3rd started to grind, the infamous synchro problem ever since then ive been running honda mtf (10k miles)

HONDA MTF has additives that are vital to the operation of your honda
tranny/synchro's.

redline's products are 2nd to none...but when it comes to tranny oil for your car..
stick with the HONDA MTF.

the only other comparable that i know of is the GM synchroshift or something...
(used in the corvette)

Add GM Syncromesh to the list as well. Heard it can clear up or minimize some minor synchro issues.

Redline. When I switched from Honda to Redline the difference was like night and day. It shifts much smoother and the smoothness lasts longer than with the OEM stuff.

I have been using the GM Syncroshift in my ITR trans for about 6k miles since I have had it, before and after a rebuild. Shifts were always very smooth, and never had any problems. Recently I put in Honda MTF becuase I didnt have time to go to the GM dealer. I like the the GM stuff better, it seems to be a little bit smoother.

I have also heard it will help out small grinds. But you cant expect fix a totally shot snycro problem.

The difference from night to day could be because your stock honda oil was old and dirty...

I always use Honda MTF. I don't know from experience, but what I have heard is Honda trannys don't like anything other than Honda fluid.

I'm sorry to say but metal does not 'just' repair its self.

As for the Gm fluid it migth have better properites then Honda's but as for fixing small problems= horseshit!

Do I need to elaborate?

yes, please do. i was told told by an acura tech to try gm synchroshift before i tore my tranny apart when i was using clean honda mtf, i was getting the infamous 3rd gear scratch at 8400 rpm upshift. used the gm stuff and viola! scratch dissapeared!

what was in your trans. before, and how long was it in there? I also know Acura tech(s) and they don't recomend any gm fluid in a h/a trans.

If any bandaid fluid creates the illusion of a repair, have you also considered long term bearing damage?

To me Honda MTL is not as good as GM oil.

me fucked up my synchro by KAAZ oil. (hard to get in 1st gear& grind when 2nd~3rd red line shifting)

then change back to Honda MTL plus some 8 dollar tranny fix fluid (cant remember the name ). walala..... same **** happened but much smoothier however.

now~ GM oil by itself. Not fixed, but much much easier to get in the first gear
and no grinding under any condition~
