recently i bought a 93 vx hatch and it doesnt run, it had no spark and the fuel pump didnt kick on when i got it. i got it home and so far changed plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, fuel pump, and main relay and still NOTHING! im not sure were to go from here. H-T please guide me to get my hatch running.

my friend is coming over in a bit and we are going to switch out the fuse panel and see if that does anything.

 

Give a little more info on the motor, car, mods, auto/manual. What did the previous owner say? I'm sure someone will chime in. Check all your grounds and connections.

Please be more specific as in the car cranks or does not crank, the car starts or does not start or the car cranks but does not start.

 

Is the timing belt intact? Pull the cap off and crank motor, if rotor turns, belt is there.

 

Any CEL?

 

check the G101 ground in the engine bay.

 

the car cranks but does not start, yes timing belt is there, there is a CEL when the key is in the on position.

 

can u hear a clicking sound under the dash? if not chances are its the main relay..

also check all the grounds...theres a ground on the top of the valve cover going to the core support,one on the thermostat housing and one on the transmission if one of them isnt hooked up u will never get spark

It says he replaced main relay.

 

pic on thermostat ground? the vc ground was on the mount. now is on the correct spot.

 

Ground on thermostat (sorry for the small pic...you can look it up on google though)

 

did that, also found out it was a fuse. thanks honda tech. now its sputting around 3k rpms. im going to clean out the fpr tonight and time it and see if that fixes it

 

its also idling rediculously low

 

Clean iacv and fitv...may help the idle...u can also adjust the idle in the fitv while it's out. RonJ has a good write up on both in his signature.
