Trying to free up some engine bay space in a 93 del sol and was thinking of moving the fuse box to the rear storage compartment'

just curious what gauge wiring i could be using for this

The bigger the better. I'd throw a 4 on it just because it's cheap enough regardless of being overkill or not. You can get entire spools online for dirt cheap. Just off hand searching on google shopping, you can get 25 feet for 9 bucks. But getting a terminal welded to the end of the wire is a bitch. If you have a torch and some solder pellets it's a breeze.
