Default Black Smoke!

Ive got a 94 civic Ex with aftermarket straight pipes and everytime i get on it it spits some black, oil looking stuff out of the tailpipe along with black smoke. I know when a head gasket is blown it would be white smoke and there will be a milky, watery substance on the dip-stick, but there non of that. Does anybody know what it could be??

Determine the CEL code... it's different for every engine, usually a shop manual will tell you how to check the code, or you can go to autozone and they will use their code scanner for free. It's probably your oxygen sensor, but it could be something more complex and more expensive. Go check the codes first.

I could be wrong, but you probably have a MAP sensor instead of a MAF sensor. It's an easy fix... it should be bolted onto the throttle body.

Hondas are easy to fix. Just be glad you don't have a Ford like me. Just changing the rear spark plugs on my Taurus is more difficult than anything I've done with a Honda.

Pull the engine trouble code and post up what it is, then we can help you. You can find how to do that all over the internet. www.google.com
