Igniton switch?

Default Igniton switch?

Ok so i was wondering if my ignition switch in my 91 honda civic hatchback is bad.. When i turn the key off the brake,battery and all the dash lights slowly fade away. Arnt they suppost to just shut off? Let me know what you think :D thanks honda tech guys

yeah they should shut off immediately. it may be your ignition switch. there are lots of topics about how to diagnose ignition switch problems, so search around on HT and you will likely find everything you need. I would say you are on the right track though.

This problem is not new. You can easily change out the ignition cylinder with a new one. The only caveat is that you now need two sets of keys, one just for the ignition, the other for the all the locks..Not a biggie..

You don't need to change out the lock cylinder itself. the switch plugs into the back of the lock cylinder.

Ok thanks guys i just didnt feel like looking thru all the honda tech fourm thing's. I figured id ask best to get new answer's as pose to old one's learning new things every day :D thanks for ur comments

Honda tech rules i love this place. Only when theres not jerks messaging.. Havnt had that problem on my thread thing yet :D Crossing fingers
